Hello, I'm Gwen! I'm a classically trained chef with a love for Southwest (U.S.) cuisine. My food blends Southern home-style cooking with traditional Mexican flavours.
I grew up in the heart of Texas with a born and bred Texan father and no nonsense British mum, eating every sort of food under the sun. This household instilled a love for quality food and local Southwest flavours in me, from a very young age.
I worked as a management consultant for several years and then realized that life is too short, so I enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, in London. While the course is intense, it confirmed my love of preparing food and its ability to pull people together.
The source of my culinary passion is admittedly a little scattered. The British side of me is grounded in the importance of food quality, thoughtful preparation, and local ingredients. However, I have to say that I find the flavours I use circling back to ‘cowboy cooking’. As the saying goes, ‘you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl’.
